Job Summary

Grande Fond du Lac is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Analyst who understands the critical role payroll plays in the Associate (employee) experience. In this role, you’ll own the end-to-end processing of bi-weekly payroll, ensuring timeliness, accuracy, and alignment with federal, state, and local regulations while maintaining strict confidentiality of our data. Strong prior payroll processing experience is a must, ideally with multi-state payroll, where you’ve navigated varying tax laws, compliance requirements, and complex scenarios. You’ll partner closely with HR, Finance, and auditors to resolve issues, maintain strong controls, and deliver reliable reporting.

Beyond processing, you’ll play a key role in payroll accounting, reconciliations, audits, and continuous improvement efforts. From supporting month-end close activities and audit requests to identifying opportunities to automate and streamline processes, your work will directly strengthen the payroll function. If you’re a proactive, solutions-focused professional who enjoys improving processes, ensuring compliance, and serving as a trusted resource for payroll questions, this is a great opportunity to make a meaningful impact!

What you need to be considered for the role:

  • 4 Year / Bachelors Degree in Business, Accounting or other related field required. An equivalency may be considered.
  • 3+ years of progressive payroll experience, preferably in a multi-state environment
  • Strong knowledge of payroll regulations, tax laws, and compliance requirements
  • Experience with payroll systems and HRIS platforms, UKG preferred.
  • Strong mathematical aptitude with the ability to solve practical problems and work with a variety of concrete variables, even in situations with limited information
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on accuracy and efficiency
  • High attention to detail and commitment to data integrity
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with Associates and external stakeholders
  • Ability to influence and persuade others to achieve desired outcomes and drive process improvements
  • High level of professionalism with a strong commitment to confidentiality and handling sensitive information
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain discretion and safeguard payroll and Associate data
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
