Job Summary and QualificationsThe Employee Relations (ER) Consultant provides strategic consultation and guidance to the business on employee relations issues. The role is responsible for the design and development of ER policies, processes, programs, and trainings. The consultant manages vendor relationships, and works with legal counsel and HR Business Partners on employee-related issues, disputes, policies, and compliance.
This role will work a hybrid schedule at our Corporate Office in Nashville, TN.
Major Responsibilities:
- Design and administer various employee relations programs, including but not limited to, employee engagement, exit interviews, and outplacement. This includes the design and development of communications in support of the programs, and policy updates and/or changes.
- Develop and maintain employee relations policies and procedures for the employee portal and/or handbooks
- Consult with Business Partners and management on employee relations issues, including but not limited to, compliance with HR standards of The Joint Commission and substance abuse. Coordinating with Clinical Services Group, as needed.
- Handle escalated severance and separation issues.
- Lead/conduct investigations into employee issues; at times in conjunction with Ethics and Compliance
- Monitor, research and track legislation, regulation, and case law at the federal, state, and local levels; ensure organizational HR compliance with government regulations.
- Manage vendor relationships; negotiate employee service agreements and vendor contracts; manage day-to-day service issues resolution, and performance monitoring.
- Perform ER research around attitudes and opinions, and design an employee engagement program.
- Develop and deliver training to the organization on employee relations issues, trends, and compliance.
- Facilitate employee focus groups and conduct interviews to gather and understand employee concerns; create action plans from findings.
- Work closely with Legal on settlements negotiation, employee dispute finalizations, affirmative action planning, OFCCP compliance issues, immigration activities, depositions and court proceedings.
- Coordinate safety and security issues with Risk Management Department.
- Create employee information for the portal, employee handbooks, and various HCA websites related to employee relations information
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree Required
- 7+ years of experience in relevant work experience Required
