POSITION SUMMARY
The Human Resources Intern provides administrative and operational support to the HR department in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role supports day-to-day HR functions including employee file management, onboarding preparation, HR compliance projects, employee engagement initiatives, and general administrative support. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, professional, and able to maintain confidentiality while learning core HR processes and practices.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- File, scan, organize, and maintain employee records and HR documentation
- Convert paper employee files into electronic records
- Assist with employee file audits and document retention projects
- Support onboarding preparation, including assembling new hire packets and required paperwork
- Prepare orientation materials and onboarding supplies
- Assist with badge preparation and onboarding logistics
- Update HR communication boards, bulletin boards, and employee postings
- Maintain HR trackers, spreadsheets, and filing systems
- Perform data entry and assist with updates in HR systems such as Dayforce
- Assist with training record maintenance and compliance tracking
- Assist with scheduling interviews, meetings, and employee appointments
- Help coordinate employee engagement activities and events
- Prepare packets and supporting documentation for HR meetings
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee and company information
- Assist with office and HR supply inventory
- Provide general administrative support to the HR team as assigned
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or related field
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to handle confidential information professionally
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, and use office equipment for extended periods
- Ability to lift and move files or office materials up to 20 pounds
