Overview
The Talent Acquisition Specialist is responsible for attracting, sourcing, and hiring top talent to support Velocity's continued growth. This role owns the full recruitment lifecycle and serves as the primary ambassador of Velocity's employer brand. The Recruiter will develop talent pipelines, build relationships with trade schools and community organizations, and ensure an exceptional candidate experience from first contact through onboarding.
This position may operate in a hybrid work environment, with regular on-site presence required for interviews, hiring events, onboarding activities, and partnership development.

Duties and Responsibilities
Talent Acquisition (50%)
Manage full-cycle recruiting for all assigned positions.
Partner with hiring managers to develop recruiting strategies and hiring plans.
Create and manage job postings across multiple platforms.
Source passive candidates through networking, social media, referrals, and outreach campaigns.
Screen resumes and conduct initial interviews.
Coordinate hiring manager interviews and candidate assessments.
Facilitate offer presentation and negotiation.
Maintain accurate recruiting documentation and ATS records.
Talent Pipeline Development (20%)
Develop relationships with trade schools, technical colleges, military transition programs, and workforce development organizations.
Build talent pipelines for production, technician, leadership, and corporate roles.
Maintain candidate pools for future hiring needs.
Attend career fairs, networking events, and industry functions.
Employer Branding (10%)
Promote Velocity's culture and career opportunities through social media and recruiting events.
Partner with Marketing on recruitment campaigns.
Create content supporting employment branding efforts.
Gather candidate feedback to improve recruiting processes.
Candidate Experience (10%)
Ensure consistent communication throughout the hiring process.
Deliver a professional and engaging candidate experience.
Coordinate interview logistics and scheduling.
Conduct candidate surveys and analyze feedback.
Recruiting Analytics (10%)
Track recruiting KPIs including:
Time-to-fill
Cost-per-hire
Source effectiveness
Offer acceptance rates
New hire retention
Provide monthly recruiting reports and recommendations.
Required Skills and Abilities
Required
2-4 years of recruiting or talent acquisition experience.
Experience managing multiple requisitions simultaneously.
Strong interviewing and relationship-building skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication.
Experience using ATS systems and recruiting platforms.
Comprehensive knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
Preferred
Degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field
Manufacturing, automotive, skilled trades, or industrial recruiting experience.
Experience recruiting both hourly and salaried positions.
LinkedIn Recruiter experience.
SHRM Talent Acquisition Specialty Credential or similar certification.
Physical Demands (To include but not limited to)
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk or workstation.
Occasional standing or walking within the office or shop, such as attending meetings, retrieving documents, or interacting with customers or employees.
Occasionally lifting and carrying items, typically weighing up to 10-20 pounds.
Frequent use of fingers and hands for typing, writing, and operating a computer.
Using telephones, printers, copiers, and other office tools.
Frequent need to focus on printed or digital material.
Reviewing financial documents, schedules, or customer data with accuracy.
Regular communication with customers, vendors, and team members, either in person, on the phone, or via video conferencing.
Engaging with customers in person or over the phone, sometimes requiring extended periods of active listening and problem-solving.
Prolonged exposure to hot or cold temperatures.
Mild noise from office machines or nearby shop areas if the office is adjacent to the workshop. PPE may be required while walking through the shop.
Moving around the office or between departments, sometimes requiring the ability to climb stairs.
Safely operate a motor vehicle.
