Three years of human resources experience; OR Six years of full-time experience in any field; OR A bachelors degree. EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION: Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.   • Processes the full range of personnel and payroll actions needed to complete appointments, merit increases, promotions, transfers, separations, etc.
  • Provides general, basic explanation of employee benefit programs and advises employees of various options available under some programs. Reviews benefits documents for accuracy and completeness; forwards to appropriate office.
  • Reviews files on a routine basis to ensure that current descriptions are maintained for all positions.
  • Provides assistance to agency personnel on routine or limited Civil Service rules, Federal and State laws, and department policies and procedures in assigned areas.
  • Schedules employees for required training courses. Monitors and maintains records of completed course work.

Position-Specific Details :

Appointment Type: JOB APPOINTMENT

  • A job appointment is a temporary job lasting up to four years; however, should a permanent position become available, the employee may be converted to a probational appointment.
  • This position may also be filled as a probational appointment if a non-temporary position becomes available in the recruitment process.
  • If filled by probation, a permanent classified LA State employee, if selected, may be required to accept a probational appointment.

Compensation: This position has a Special Entrance Rate (SER) at each level. However, the salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience.

  • Human Resources Analyst A has an SER of $20.20 per hour
  • Human Resources Analyst B has an SER of $21.61 per hour
  • Human Resources Analyst C has an SER of $24.31 per hour

Career Progression Group : HUMAN RESOURCES ANALYST A, B, OR C

  • Filled at the highest level of experience of the selected applicant.
  • Salary depends on level of experience.
