Position OverviewWestern Union is seeking an experienced Senior People Relations Partner to support employee relations initiatives across North America. This role is responsible for managing complex and high-risk employee relations matters across the United States, Canada, and Mexico while ensuring compliance with global HR policies, employment laws, and workplace standards.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience handling workplace investigations, accommodations, corrective actions, and sensitive workforce matters in a multinational environment. This individual will partner closely with HR leadership, Legal, and cross-functional stakeholders to drive consistency, improve employee experiences, and support scalable HR processes across the region.
Key ResponsibilitiesLead and oversee workplace investigations, accommodations, corrective actions, and employee relations processes across multiple countries within North America
Serve as the escalation point for sensitive or high-risk employee relations matters including terminations, workforce actions, and compliance concerns
Ensure alignment and consistent execution of global HR and People Relations policies, processes, and practices across the region
Partner with Employment Legal, Business Integrity Office, HR leadership, and business stakeholders to resolve complex employee relations issues
Analyze employee relations trends, case data, and HR metrics to identify risks and recommend proactive solutions
Support and participate in global HR process improvement initiatives focused on scalability, operational efficiency, and employee experience enhancements
Drive process standardization and continuous improvement efforts across regional People Relations functions
Collaborate with global stakeholders while navigating regional employment practices, cultural differences, and legal requirements
6+ years of experience in Employee Relations, Human Resources, or related HR functions
Strong experience managing workplace investigations, accommodations, and corrective actions
Experience supporting employee relations matters across the United States, Canada, and Mexico
Proven ability to handle confidential and high-risk employee matters with discretion and professionalism
Strong understanding of employment laws, HR compliance, and employee relations best practices across multiple regions
Experience working in fast-paced, global, or multinational environments
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and make sound decisions in sensitive situations
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Fluency in Spanish required
Portuguese language skills are a plus
Experience supporting global HR transformation or process improvement initiatives
Experience partnering closely with Legal and executive HR leadership
Strong reporting and HR analytics experience
Experience improving scalable HR service delivery models
