Specific Job Functions:
- Educate employees on leave of absence policies, procedures, and available resources.
- Review, evaluate, determine eligibility, and administer requests under the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA).
- Review medical documentation and approve or deny leave requests.
- Document, track, and input and process accurate employee leave of absence information in UKG Pro, and UKG Workforce Management Leave of Absence Module, UKG Document Manager and other applicable systems.
- Prepare and distribute required leave notices, designation notices, correspondence, and other communications related to employee leave of absence.
- Communicate leave requests, approvals, extensions, and return-to-work information to department managers.
- Generate leave of absence analytics on a monthly basis.
- Review employee eligibility, coverage, effective date, premium payment responsibility for enrolled employees including qualifying events, address/name/beneficiary changes in the benefits administration system.
- Resolve employee concerns regarding their leave of absence in a timely manner, by thoroughly researching and investigating the issue/s and reporting the finding back to the employee.
- Ensure documents are properly uploaded into Employee Files.
- Maintain confidentiality with all matters within the department.
- Perform all duties as deemed necessary for the success of the department.
Qualifactions
- Three years of experience in Human Resources preferred.
- One year of leave management and benefits experience preferred.
- Solid knowledge and understanding of Family Medical Leave Act and other types of leave of absence.
- Knowledge of computer programs, including Microsoft Office Suite.
- Must be detail-oriented.
- Proactively problem solve.
- Ability to manage time and priorities to complete tasks in a timely manner.
- Ability to compile, research, and analyze information.
- Willingness and ability to learn new skills.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Professional appearance and demeanor a must.
- Communicate effectively in both verbally and written form.
- Bi-lingual preferred (spanish).
