Driver Recruiter - LTL Trucking Industry
Position Summary
The Driver Recruiter plays a critical role in keeping freight moving. In the LTL industry-where efficiency, reliability, and driver quality are essential-this position directly impacts service levels, safety, and overall business performance.
TForce Freight is seeking a results driven Driver Recruiter who will be responsible for sourcing and screening qualified commercial drivers (CDL Class A) that meet the company's LTL operational needs. This role focuses on building a strong pipeline of talent, ensuring compliance with DOT regulations, and supporting driver retention through effective onboarding and candidate experience.
Key Responsibilities
Recruitment & Sourcing
- Develop and execute recruiting strategies to attract qualified LTL drivers.
- Source candidates through job boards, social media, driver lead platforms, referrals, and recruiting events.
- Maintain a continuous pipeline of candidates for immediate and future hiring needs.
- Partner with operations to understand hiring demands by region/location.
Screening & Selection
- Conduct initial phone screenings and interviews to assess qualifications, experience, and cultural fit.
- Verify CDL licenses, endorsements, work history, safety records, and background requirements in compliance with DOT, FMCSA and company hiring standards.
- Coordinate interview and assist with job offers.
Compliance & Documentation
- Maintain accurate records in the Applicant Tracking System (ATS).
- Ensure compliance with DOT regulations, EEO guidelines, and company policies.
- Monitor hiring metrics and maintain recruiting reports.
Relationship Management
- Build relationships with candidates, driving schools, and industry contacts.
- Provide a positive and professional candidate experience.
- Partner with operations to staff positions timely with qualified candidates.
Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor's preferred).
- 1-3+ years of recruiting experience
- Experience recruiting LTL, regional or linehaul drivers preferred.
- Familiarity with driver recruiting platforms (i.e. Indeed).
- Knowledge of CDL driver qualifications and DOT regulations.
- Strong communication, interviewing, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple requisitions in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills.
