Position: HR Generalist Location: New Albany, Ohio Department: Human Resources Reports to: HR Manager Shift: First Shift Internal Post Date: _____________________________________________________________________________ JOB SUMMARY The HR Generalist will be responsible for assisting with the day-to-day operations of the HR department and supporting manufacturing operations. This role will provide exposure to various HR tasks, including recruitment, HR reporting, employee relations, benefits administration, training and development, and compliance. This position actively engages, collaborates, and partners with both leaders and employees of the departments they support to develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives, enhance employee engagement and morale, improve working relationships, and drive positive business results. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Assist with recruiting coordination (job postings, conducting interviews, processing background checks, drug screens, etc.)
- Support employee benefits administration, including health, dental, and retirement plans.
- Help organize and conduct employee training and development programs.
- Assist with payroll processing and tracking employee attendance
- Handle employee inquiries regarding HR policies, benefits, and other HR-related matters
- Support the HR team in implementing and ensuring compliance with labor laws, company policies, and regulations.
- Conduct new hire orientation
- Build rapport and relationships with management and employees to maintain a reputation as a resource and confidante.
- Serves as an employee advocate while balancing the needs of the company.
- Assists with conducting effective, thorough, and objective investigations
- Manage employee records as applicable, updating and correcting when necessary; establish procedures to ensure data is accurate and records are appropriately updated.
- Perform audits in HRIS and timekeeping systems to ensure data integrity and equitable application of policies (e.g., attendance)
- Participates in employee engagement activities.
- Assist with any other duties and projects as required.
- Ability to work evenings and weekends if needed.
- Strong interest in pursuing a career in Human Resources.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and integrity.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and HR software (or willingness to learn).
- Positive, team-oriented attitude with a willingness to learn and grow.
- Internship experience or coursework in Human Resources.
- Bachelors degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Bilingual preferred to support a diverse workforce.
- Certifications PHR, SHRM-CP, or CPP are preferred
- Knowledge of HR laws and best practices.
