Reporting within Admissions to the Graduate Program Admissions and Recruitment Coordinator , the Graduate Recruitment Specialist is responsible for developing , recommending , and implementing graduate recruitment and matriculation strategies in consultation with relevant stakeholders . This includes collecting , monitoring , and presenting enrollment data on a regular cycle ; monitoring the completion of graduate enrollment success metrics; implementing focused messaging and communications aligned with the recruitment strategy; and using data to inform evaluation and decision - making regarding current and future program array .
This position may commonly serve students in all graduate programs at UW-Stout, including supporting a variety of Admissions and Graduate Studies outreach needs, but this role focuses on leading recruitment efforts for UW-Stouts College of Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics & Management (CSTEMM) graduate programs . The specialist is a member of Admissions and works in coordination with campus stakeholder s including and not limited to the Academic College Deans and Associate Deans, Graduate Program Directors, the Graduate Studies team, Stout Online, the Office of International Education, Marketing and Communications , and the Provosts Office .
Job responsibilities:
( 7 5 %) Develop , recommend , and implement recruitment and matriculation events and strategies to support and grow enrollment of graduate students.
Recruit and c ounsel prospective and admitted graduate students on educational planning and career opportunities .
Identify and develop strategic opportunities for admissions and outreach events aligned with UW-Stout's Comprehensive Recruitment Plan .
Activities/events should be proportioned according to strategic market share. i .e., i nternal events to current UW-Stout undergraduate students ( pursuing a combination of Accelerated Programs and/or other pathways) and external events that attract prospective polytechnic student markets , not solely focused on traditional full-time graduate student pipelines.
Identify data/ success metrics for each activity and evaluate the effectiveness of admissions and outreach events to inform continuous improvement .
Assist the Academic College Deans, Director of Admissions, Office of International Education, and the Graduate Studies unit in stay ing up to date on current trends in graduate student recruitment for the purpose of informing outreach strategy and UW-Stouts current graduate program array.
Work with the Educational Pathways and Outreach Office , Office of Corporate Relations and Economic Engagement, and Career Services Office, on employer-based continuing education intersections as appropriate .
With direction and guidance from the Graduate Program Admissions and Recruitment Coordinator, d eliver directed admissions program messaging to internal and external audiences.
Collaborate with MarCom , D ean s/Associate Deans, and the Graduate Program Admission and Recruitment Coordinator, to determine the effectiveness of communication strategies focused on prospective graduate student populations and their impact on enrollment success metrics .
Work effectively to increase yield of graduate prospective students/applicants , including collaborations with Graduate Program Directors, Academic Deans /Associate Deans , Provosts Office, Admissions, Stout Online, MarCom and OIE to ensure we are effectively guiding and supporting prospective and admitted student communications, processes, and next steps.
( 1 5%) In coordination with graduate admissions and graduate studies leadership, c ollaborate to improve communications to and experiences of currently enrolled graduate student s .
Communicate and collaborate with Graduate Studies team members in support of graduate student success.
Backup the Graduate Program Admission and Recruitment Coordinator in m onitor ing and maintain ing various retention campaigns and collect data to measure campaign success in coordination with the Graduate Administrative Assistant.
Partner with Graduate Program Directors, Academic Deans, Provosts Office, Stout Online, MarCom and OIE to ensure we are effectively supporting current graduate students ( ex . graduate assistantships or other programming).
( 10 %) Perform other related duties as assigned .

- Creates targeted communication plans and materials based on established goals
- Counsels prospective and admitted graduate students on educational planning and career opportunities
- Delivers directed admissions program messaging to internal and external audiences
- Identifies, promotes, and maintains internal and external partnerships focusing on outreach, recruitment, and admission
- Reviews, evaluates, and responds to student applications for admission to a graduate program according to established policies and procedures

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelors degree from an accredited institution
At least one year of full-time (or equivalent) professional experience in an administrative, coordination, outreach, communications, admissions, recruitment, marketing, or student-support role
Demonstrated experience working in a professional, team-based environment, including experience with written and verbal communication, use of information systems, and managing assigned tasks.
Preferred Qualifications:
Masters degree in higher education or a related field from an accredited institution
Experience in higher education, including in applied STEM-focused contexts
Experience supporting recruitment, outreach, marketing, admissions, or other engagement efforts with prospective or participating populations
Experience planning or coordinating initiatives, campaigns, events, or other similar multi-step processes
Experience using data, metrics, CRMs, or information systems to monitor activity, track outcomes, or support decision-making
Experience working collaboratively with multiple stakeholders, teams, or partners
