Description

The Franke Global Leadership Initiative (GLI) invites applications for a Program Coordinator II to provide high-level administrative and operational support. This position requires strong initiative, independent judgment, and the ability to manage complex program components involving budgeting, student advising, event planning, communications, and systems oversight.

Examples of Duties and Responsibilities

Coordinate day-to-day operations, services, and direction of the Franke GLI program.

Oversee the Franke Fund budget and scholarship allocation process in collaboration with Financial Aid, Business Services, and the UM Foundation.

Manage the Franke Fellow Scholarship application and review process.

Develop and maintain the program's website, social media platforms, and online marketing strategy.

Contribute to recruitment efforts and support the design of orientation, advising, and training materials.

Plan and execute service and social events for program participants.

Advise students on program requirements through formal appointments, regular communications, and drop-in meetings.

Track student compliance and progress, and assist with individualized completion plans.

Verify certificate completion using the degree audit system.

Design and manage the program's Canvas platform.

Supervise student-led events and provide budget oversight for related activities.

Provide specialized program information to internal and external stakeholders.

Handle purchasing and procurement of program supplies.

Support program assessment by gathering and providing relevant data to the program director.

Minimum Qualifications

High School diploma and two (2) years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience in program coordination, event planning, and administrative support.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse populations and present to varied audiences.

Ability to manage and analyze student data, maintain compliance records, and support program assessment.

Proficient written communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, audience-appropriate materials.

Strong organizational and time-management skills; capable of managing multiple priorities independently and in team settings.

Familiarity with CMS platforms, learning management systems (e.g., Canvas), social media tools, and standard office procedures.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to learn and apply new software tools quickly.

Ability to provide professional customer service, maintain confidentiality, and work flexible hours including occasional evenings and some weekends.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree.

Knowledge of higher education issues, traditions, and trends.

Additional Information

Compensation Title: Program Coordinator II

Union: FOCUS-MFPE

Work Schedule: Full-time, 1.0 FTE (40 Hours a week), Monday through Friday, hours are flexible, 12 months/year

Probationary Period: Six (6) months minimum
