Position Summary:
The HR Generalist is responsible for supporting the daily operations of the Human Resources department and assisting in the administration of key HR functions, including employee relations, benefits, onboarding, compliance, performance management, recruiting support, and HR operations. This role serves as a resource to employees and management while helping ensure a positive and compliant work environment.
Essential Job Functions:
Employee Relations & HR SupportServe as a point of contact for employee questions related to policies, benefits, payroll, and HR procedures
Support employee relations matters by assisting with issue resolution, documentation, and follow-up
Partner with management to support employee engagement, performance management, and workplace initiatives
Maintain professionalism and confidentiality when handling sensitive employee information
Assist with recruitment efforts, including job postings, interview scheduling, candidate communication, attending recruiting events, and onboarding coordination
Facilitate new hire onboarding and orientation processes
Prepare and maintain onboarding documentation and employee records
Assist employees with benefits enrollment and related questions
Coordinate benefits changes, qualifying life events, and open enrollment support
Support leave administration processes, including FMLA, ADA accommodations, and workers’ compensation documentation
Review and reconcile benefit-related information for accuracy
Maintain employee records and ensure HR documentation is accurate and compliant
Support payroll processes, employee status changes, and timekeeping administration
Assist with policy implementation and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws
Support HR audits, reporting, and documentation requests
Assist with employee training initiatives and professional development programs
Support performance review processes and employee development activities
Help maintain training materials, HR resources, and process documentation
Identify opportunities to improve HR processes and operational efficiency
Collaborate with team members to support departmental goals and special projects
Assist with employee engagement initiatives and company culture programs
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred
2–4 years of Human Resources experience preferred
Working knowledge of HR principles, employment laws, and best practices
Experience with benefits administration, onboarding, and employee relations preferred
Strong organizational and time management skills
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
Proficiency in Google Suite, Microsoft Office, and HRIS systems preferred
Attention to detail and accuracy

Interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively
Adaptability in a fast-paced environment

Physical Actions/Environment: Working conditions are typical of an office environment. Required job duties consist of prompt and regular attendance, ability to frequently move about the office to coordinate work with others; standing, sitting, and typing for extended periods; and lifting and/or carrying up to 5 lbs. Ability to frequently communicate with others in-person, on the phone/virtually, and in writing. Ability to read, understand, process, and evaluate large amounts of technical information and make related, informed decisions.
Starting Salary Range : $60,000-$70,000 commensurate with experience
Schedule: We offer flexible work hours between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM, with options like 8–4, 8:30–4:30, or 9–5. We do our best to support individual preferences, though schedules may be adjusted as needed to ensure strong coverage and teamwork.
Location: Detroit and Southfield, MI. This position will be fully on-site Monday through Friday
