Senior HRIS AnalystHoward University Hospital Washington, DCRole SummaryAs a Senior HRIS Analyst at Howard University Hospital, you will own the day-to-day operation, integrity, and continuous improvement of our HRIS platform - the system that powers every paycheck, every benefit election, and every workforce decision across our academic medical center. Administer and maintain Lawson HRIS modules including Core HR, Payroll, Time & Attendance, and TalentConfigure system settings, parameters, tables, and workflows to support evolving HR business needsCoordinate testing and validation of patches, releases, and version upgrades; develop and execute test plansPerform routine system maintenance and parameter changes to ensure functionality of HR processes
Integrations & Data Management
Manage and monitor integrations between Lawson and connected systems including payroll, time-tracking, and finance systemsTroubleshoot interface failures and data discrepancies in partnership with Information Technology and external vendorsEnsure the accuracy, integrity, confidentiality, and currency of personnel data across Lawson and connected systemsPerform routine data audits and reconciliations; coordinate mass data updates, load files, and Personnel Action Form (PAF) entry standards
Reporting & Analytics
Design, develop, and maintain custom and standard reports, dashboards, and ad hoc analyticsSupport HR leadership, Compensation, Talent Acquisition, Employee Relations, Payroll, and Finance with timely, accurate workforce dataProduce compliance reporting including EEO-1, ACA, OSHA, and other regulatory submissionsConduct HR data modeling and trend analysis to support workforce planning, negotiations, and grievance processes
Security & Compliance
Administer HRIS security including role design, user access provisioning and de-provisioning, segregation of duties, and audit supportPartner with HR leadership and IT to enforce data privacy and confidentiality controlsMaintain documentation of system configurations, security roles, integrations, and standard operating procedures
Projects & Process Improvement
Lead or support HRIS-related projects including module implementations, upgrades, vendor transitions, and process automationDocument business and functional requirements; conduct user acceptance testingIdentify opportunities to streamline HR processes through technology and self-service
End-User Support & Stakeholder Partnership
Serve as the escalation point for HR end-user system issues; troubleshoot pay and data-related discrepanciesDevelop training materials and deliver training to HR staff and managers on Lawson functionality, self-service tools, and reportingManage relationships with HRIS vendors and integration partners; coordinate support tickets and enhancement requestsPartner cross-functionally with Compensation, Talent Acquisition, Employee Relations, Payroll, IT, and Finance
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field requiredMinimum four (4) years of HRIS experience required, including hands-on Lawson administrationDemonstrated experience managing HRIS integrations, reporting, and data analyticsProficiency in SQL and report-writing tools (e.g., Crystal Reports, IBM Cognos, or equivalent)Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, lookups, and complex formulasWorking knowledge of HRIS security principles, including role design and segregation of dutiesStrong analytical, organizational, and project management skillsHigh degree of discretion and ability to maintain strict confidentiality of personnel data
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in Human Resources, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related fieldHealthcare or hospital HRIS experienceExperience with Lawson Smart Office, Infor Process Automation, or related Lawson toolingExperience supporting unionized workforces and collective bargaining data needs
