Job DetailsJob Location: Capital Holding Group - Jefferson City, MO 65101Position Type: Full TimeCapital Holding Group is looking for a Safety Coordinator to implement, manage, and monitor safety programs, policies, and procedures that meet OSHA requirements. This position will oversee all DOT and commercial paving jobs and bridge and earthworks projects to ensure they are meeting OSHA standards and following company safety policies.
This individual must be an experienced safety specialist with a demonstrated history of working in the environmental services industry. This individual must be skilled in Hazard Analysis, CPR Instruction, Safety Training, Incident Investigation, and Lock Out Tag Out.
Job Tasks and Responsibilities
Assist with executing our safety strategy and zero accident culture for the assigned business unit
Ensure job site safety including training, documentation, audits, and reporting
Monitor daily construction activities for compliance with OSHA and company policies/procedures
Assist in safety efforts by researching, planning, developing, and implementing programs and procedures necessary to meet compliance and safety needs
Implement an effective safety program for each project within the territory assigned
Lead safety training for individuals and crews as needed
Maintain a regular site visit to all projects within the territory assigned
Communicate to all parties in real time to ensure all safety matters are dealt with timely and accurately
Maintain proper safety records and documentation and communicate to all levels of the organization as necessary
Other duties, as assigned
QualificationsQualifications, Skills, and Experience
Bachelors degree focused on Occupational Safety Health or five (5) years of equivalent experience.
Relative background in civil construction or asphalt
Environmental compliance experience
Previous experience with OSHA rules and regulations
Formal safety training including OSHA within the construction industry
Ability to identify and correct safety deficiencies in the field
Possess excellent interpersonal skills, with demonstrated ability to effectively interact with employees at all levels in a construction environment
Working knowledge with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Clean and valid drivers license
Well-organized approach to constant changing working conditions and/or priorities
Must be punctual, have a strong work ethic, and maintain a good attendance record.
Must pass a pre-employment physical, drug/alcohol screen, and background check
