Job Summary
- The Sourcing Specialist carries out procurement of all materials needed for BrightView projects according to Company guidelines, for all Development projects, and select Maintenance projects as directed by management
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure that all materials are acquired at the lowest cost consistent with considerations of quality, reliability of source, urgency of need, and rebate programs
- Maintain relationships with Branch Managers, Project Management, and other business leaders to ensure that procurement is aligned with their objectives
- Live by the organizational procurement strategy
- Assist in executing against objectives for purchasing within the assigned vertical
- Help identify cost-saving and cost-reduction opportunities
- Ensure the execution of standards, controls, policies, procedures, and performance metrics to effectively and efficiently manage the acquisition and reporting of spending across the company
- Actively participate in project turnover meetings, ensure documentation is complete, and discuss assumptions
- Facilitate the submittal process
- Prepare & maintain master purchase orders
- Coordinate with suppliers and non-Procurement stakeholders to facilitate order fulfillment
- Coordinate with suppliers to resolve performance-related issues
- Work with Accounts Payable to ensure timely receipt and payment for materials
- Assist with the execution against measurable performance metrics for procurement activities, including but not limited to the following:
- Spend under rebate
- Supplier performance
- Supplier quality
- Material shortage elimination
- Buyer activity levels
- Financial performance
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree
- 1+ years procurement experience in landscaping, construction, or related industry
- Customer service experience
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills
- Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Strong work ethic
- Bilingual (Spanish) a plus
Physical Demands/Requirements:
- Constant operation of a computer and other office equipment, such as a laptop, a cell phone, and printers/copiers
- Position is sedentary; must be able to remain in a stationary position for a majority of the time
- Operates in an office environment and requires in-person presence
- Ability to maintain, in your possession at all times, required medications to address any known allergic reactions should they occur
Work Environment:
- Work is conducted in a professional office environment, with a collaborative and dynamic team setting, and requires in-person presence
