Payroll Administrator

LHH Recruitment is partnering with a company in Scottsdale who is looking to add a payroll administrator to their team. This role is Monday-Friday, fully onsite for the first 90 days at last. The hourly rate is between $28/hr-$32/hr.

This role will support high-volume, multi-state payroll operations and requires someone who is highly detail-oriented, organized, and advanced in Excel.

Responsibilities

  • Process multi-state payroll accurately and on schedule
  • Review payroll data for accuracy, compliance, and discrepancies
  • Maintain payroll records and employee information
  • Handle payroll-related inquiries from employees and management
  • Assist with payroll reporting, audits, and reconciliations
  • Utilize advanced Excel functions to analyze and manage payroll data
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and company payroll regulations
  • Collaborate with HR and Accounting teams as needed

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of recent multi-state payroll experience

  • Strong Excel skills required, including:

  • VLOOKUPs

  • SUMIFs

  • Data reconciliation and reporting

  • High attention to detail and accuracy

  • Ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong communication and organizational skills

  • Experience with payroll systems and timekeeping software preferred
