Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Clearly articulate the Company's safety vision, objectives, strategies, policies, and procedures in order to build a safety culture dedicated to behaviors which lead to best-in-class performance.
  • Supports the Company's safety vision by fostering strong relationships with the field teams and understands what it takes to help drive safety performance.
  • Actively supports our "Nobody Gets Hurt, Period" belief.
  • Anticipating problems & providing solutions to job-site safety issues.
  • Provide training to all levels of Company employees.
  • Interact with all employees, clients, subcontractors, and inspectors in a positive manner.
  • Conduct job-site safety and health audits using our Safety Culture app.
  • Submit & promote our "Safety Observation" system.
  • Use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions and conclusions, and monitors results to make improvements or take corrective action to resolve safety issues or concerns.
  • Ensures safety & health training meets the needs of internal and external (client & regulating entities) requirements.
  • Conducts incident investigations, works to establish contributing and root causes, and assists with the completion of company incident reports.
  • Manage hazard assessment activities by conducting safety inspections and analyzing inspection and incident data to identify opportunities to develop preventive and corrective practices.
  • Collaborate with the Safety Director and Safety Team to develop annual plans for safety & health initiatives, including training.
  • Conducts their work as a high performance, customer-oriented work team, assisting with motivation, coaching, appraising, rewarding, disciplining, and addressing complaints and resolving issues related to safety.

In addition to the functions listed above, the employee is expected to exhibit and apply D.A. Required Qualifications:

  • ASP - CSP certification preferable but not required.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in construction or mining industry safety management.
  • In depth technical knowledge of construction-related OSHA, state, and local regulatory standards, ability to recognize hazardous situations and implement effective corrective practices.
  • Must be an effective communicator.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Ability to speak in front of groups, while conveying a clear message.

Machines/tools/Equipment:

  • Must be able to operate typical office equipment, such as a computer, copier, printer, and calculator.
  • Must be able to operate safety equipment, monitoring devices, and camera.

Working Conditions:

  • Extensive travel by vehicle.
  • Weekend, night, and out-of-town work may be required.
  • Significant work at construction sites during all stages, in all types of weather
  • Must be able to perform activities requiring use of arms and legs, including climbing ladders/scaffolding, lifting & handling materials, walking & balancing, stooping.
  • Must be able to speak & hear detailed information through oral communication.
  • Must be able to see clearly.

Compensation:

Competitive wage commensurate with experience. Excellent benefit package including company paid health, dental and vision insurance with a company-funded retirement plan.

Salary Range: $95,000 - $125,000

Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as related work experience, market conditions, education/training, certifications and other credentials, overtime when applicable, as well as applicable knowledge and skills.
