Location: Corporate Office (travel to branch locations required)

Salary: $60,000-$75,000 annually
Position Summary
The HR Generalist supports the YMCA of Metro North s mission by providing day-to-day HR support across all branches. Reporting to the Chief Strategy & People Officer, this role helps ensure consistent HR practices, compliance, employee engagement, and a positive workplace culture throughout the organization.
This is an in-person position requiring regular travel to YMCA branch and program sites.
Key Responsibilities
Support employee relations, engagement, and workplace culture aligned with YMCA values
Assist with recruitment, onboarding, and new hire orientation
Maintain employee records, HRIS data, compliance documentation, and HR reporting
Partner with Benefits & Payroll on benefits administration, payroll support, and employee inquiries
Ensure compliance with employment laws, background checks, and YMCA safety standards
Coordinate required trainings and track certifications
Qualifications
Required
Bachelor s degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field
2-4 years of HR experience
Knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices
Strong communication and organizational skills
Ability to travel between branch locations
Preferred
Nonprofit or multi-site HR experience
Familiarity with ADP or other HRIS systems
CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain
SHRM-CP or PHR certification
