POSITION OBJECTIVE
The Human Resources Coordinator will perform a wide range of HR functions under the direction of the Director of Human Resources and Human Resources Manager. This role is responsible for diverse administrative services, which may be complex and contain confidential information for Salamander Washington DC.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNTIONS
- Process and forward employee verifications, wage requests and garnishments, unemployment requests, etc.
- Maintain compliance of all federal and state legal posting requirements and ensure department posting boards/dashboards are updated on a regular basis.
- Provide customer service support to internal and external customers.
- Maintain/audit appropriate personnel files.
- Assist in assembly and delivery of new hire packets and scheduling new hire orientation.
- Create and distribute Human Resources communications as directed by the HR team.
- Maintain bulletin boards and internal hotel communications
- Process department orders related to: replacement name tags, office supplies, etc. (following standard operating procedures; purchase order request, approvals, entries in department checkbook).
- Assist with the coordination of service professional events, recognition programs and other budgeted department and/or resort inclusive functions.
- In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the manager based upon the particular requirements of the hotel:
- Processing pre-employment background checks
BENEFITS ADMINISTRATION
- Process employee 401(k) account changes into ADP/perform 401(k) participant audits
- Process and forward benefit enrollment forms for new enrollments and qualifying life events
- Present Benefit Introduction to new hires
- Monitor communication channels used for employee benefits to ensure accuracy of details and enhance the understanding of the company's benefits package.
- Coordinate annual open enrollment activities.
- Ensure compliance with COBRA regulations.
- Process new hire benefit profiles in PlanSource.
PAYROLL AND REPORTING
- Process status changes, terminations, and pay rate changes
- Process new-hire service professional paperwork and process in ADP and E-Verify.
- Generate various reports for both internal and external use.
- Assist with report production for varying department heads for active non-actives, employees without hours and others as directed.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- High School diploma required.
- Bachelor's degree or two to four (2-4) years of experience in a related area preferred.
- Proven familiarity with aspects of human resource functions, federal and state laws, insurance plan administration, wage and hour laws and exposure to confidential information.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Outlook required.
