HCM Specialist I
The HCM/HRIS Specialist I is an entry-level position responsible for supporting and helping optimize the organization's Human Capital Management (HCM) including but not limited to payroll, timekeeping, workforce management, benefits, talent acquisition and management, and learning management systems. This role will report directly to the HR Systems Specialist I & Analyst and will assist with maintaining data integrity, workflow testing, approval path validation, reporting support, and stabilization efforts related to ADP Lyric and associated systems. This position will work closely with HR, Payroll, Benefits, Operations, IT, and external vendors to support system stability, reporting accuracy, compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives across the organization. Experience with ADP Lyric is considered extremely important for this role. Candidates must also have experience with ADP Workforce Now (WFN) and/or ADP Vantage, as well as Workforce Manager. The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, process-driven, technically capable, highly responsive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with evolving priorities and large employee populations.
Essential Responsibilities
Support the HR Systems Specialist & Analyst with day-to-day administration and support of HRIS/HCM systems, with a primary focus on ADP Lyric.
Assist with system testing, workflow validation, approval path reviews, troubleshooting, and issue resolution.
Help maintain employee, payroll, organizational, and historical data integrity across systems.
Support stabilization, optimization, and ongoing enhancement efforts related to ADP Lyric.
Assist with configuration testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), and validation of system changes and updates.
Partner with HR, Payroll, Operations, IT, Benefits, and external vendors to resolve system and integration issues.
Help document business processes, workflows, procedures, and system changes.
Support reporting needs, including standard and ad hoc HR/payroll/timekeeping reports.
Validate report outputs and assist with identifying data discrepancies and process improvement opportunities.
Provide support for Workforce Manager including:
Timekeeping
Accruals
Profiles
Exception management
Time approval workflows
Meal and rest break compliance
Investigate and escalate payroll and timekeeping discrepancies as needed.
Support payroll processing activities and compliance-related initiatives.
Assist with integrations between HRIS, payroll, workforce management, recruiting, and related business systems.
Provide support to field operations and managers regarding timekeeping and workforce management processes.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Information Systems, Business, Payroll, or related field preferred.
1-3 years of HRIS, payroll, workforce management, or related systems experience preferred.
REQUIRED: Hands-on experience with:
ADP Workforce Now (WFN) and/or ADP Vantage
Workforce Manager / Workforce Management systems
EXTREMELY IMPORTANT / STRONGLY PREFERRED:
Experience supporting ADP Lyric in a live production environment
Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy and integrity.
Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Strong Microsoft Excel and reporting skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively across departments and support teams.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting payroll and timekeeping operations in a multi-state environment.
Experience with large, decentralized, or field-based workforces.
MS-PowerQuery
Exposure to system implementations, stabilization efforts, or HRIS optimization projects.
Knowledge of California meal/rest break compliance and other complex labor requirements.
Familiarity with integrations, interfaces, or reporting tools such as Tableau, Snowflake, Power BI, or similar platforms.
