You will serve as a HUMAN RESOURCES SPECIALIST (RECRUITMENT & PLACEMENT) in the TALENT ACQUISITION AND STAFFING DIRECTORATES EAST of OFFICE OF CIVILIAN HUMAN RESOURCES OPERATIONS.

GS-07: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: gathering and analyzing Human Resources concepts, laws, policies, precedents and procedures to provide recruitment and staffing support services (e.g., basic qualifications, eligibility, and pay setting) in accordance with established guidance and policy; and using human resources information systems (e.g., DCPDS) to process personal actions.

GS-05: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-04 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: utilizing human resources information systems (e.g., DCPDS) to process personal actions in accordance with established guidance and policy.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

GS-07:
  • Successfully completed one full year of graduate level education; or
  • Successfully completed a Bachelor's degree with superior academic achievement (see below for clarification text); or
  • A combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience.
SUPERIOR ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT (SAA) : Superior Academic Achievement is based on: (1) class standing; (2) grade-point average, or (3) honor society membership. 1. Class standing - applicants must be in the upper third of graduating class in the college or university attending based on courses completed. 2. Grade-point average (G.P.A) - applicants must have a grade-point average of: a. 2.95 or higher out of a possible 4.0 ("B" or better) as recorded on official transcript or as computed based on 4 years of education, or as computed based on courses completed during the final 2 years of my curriculum, or b. Based on grade-point average of 3.45 or higher out of a possible 4.0 ("B+" or better) based on the average of the required courses completed in the major field completed during the final 2 years of the curriculum. 3. Election to membership in a national scholastic honor society as listed by the Association of College Honor Societies. Membership in a freshman honor society cannot be used to meet the requirements of this provision.

GS-05:
  • Successful completion of four-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree; or
  • A combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience.
