Gurnick Academy is a leading Bay Area private healthcare college offering an extensive variety of Nursing, Allied healthcare, and Imaging programs.

We are currently seeking an HR Coordinator for our Gurnick Academy Corporate Office in San Jose, CA, but the position may reside as Remote & Online. Travel between the Gurnick Academy Campuses and Corporate Office will be as required.

Hourly Pay Range: $23.00 - $26.00 per hour

Basic Function

The Human Resource Coordinator (HRC) will be responsible for providing prompt and accurate administrative support to the Human Resources Department. The HR Coordinator is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the employee onboarding process to ensure a smooth and efficient transition for all new hires. This role oversees onboarding documentation, pre-employment requirements, new hire orientation, system access coordination, and communication with hiring managers and new employees while ensuring compliance with company policies and applicable employment requirements.

The Human Resources Coordinator will support the Gurnick Academy Corporate Office in San Jose, CA, but the position may reside as Remote & Online. Travel between the Gurnick Academy Campuses and Corporate Office will be as required.

Ensure completion and compliance of pre-employment requirements, including background checks, employment authorizations, and onboarding documentation.

Create offer letters

Conduct employee background check verifications

Handle all administrative tasks for onboarding

Coordinate and oversee the full onboarding process for all new hires.

Serve as the primary point of contact for new hires throughout the onboarding process.

Monitor onboarding timelines and follow up on outstanding requirements to ensure timely completion.

Maintain accurate and confidential employee records and onboarding documentation.

Provide administrative support related to onboarding processes, employee status updates, and personnel file maintenance.

Ensure onboarding practices remain compliant with company policies and applicable employment regulations.

Assist with process improvements to enhance the new hire onboarding experience.

Perform other related duties as assigned in support of Human Resources operations.

Requirements

Associate degree required, Bachelor's degree preferred

1-3 years of experience HR experience

Organizational knowledge or previous work in an educational, vocational, or healthcare setting preferred
