Human Resources Consultant (Contract) Location: Remote – Central Time Zone Only Position Type: Contract (Ongoing / Transition Period) Industry: Data Analytics & Technology Solutions

About the Role We are a high-growth data company currently navigating an exciting period of organizational transition. To ensure our people operations remain seamless, compliant, and forward-moving, we are seeking an entrepreneurial, battle-tested HR Consultant for an immediate contract engagement.

This is not a "maintenance" or heavy oversight role. We need a builder who isn't afraid to roll up their sleeves, jump into the weeds, and actively "fill in the blanks" where processes haven't been fully defined yet. The ideal consultant operates with a high degree of autonomy and execution drive, but possesses the maturity and team-first mindset to ask the right questions when clarity is needed. If you thrive in fast-paced tech environments and love bringing order to ambiguity, this transition team needs you.

Required Qualifications
  • Experience: 6+ years of progressive HR Generalist, HR Manager, or HR Consulting experience, ideally within a fast-paced technology, data, or professional services company.

  • The "Builder" Mindset: A proven track record of entering ambiguous or shifting environments and successfully creating structure, updating documentation, and executing daily tasks with minimal hand-holding.

  • Off-boarding Expertise: Hands-on, practical experience drafting, reviewing, and executing severance agreements and managing sensitive corporate off-boarding workflows.

  • Core Competencies: strong mastery across talent acquisition, daily HR operations, employee relations, and independent compliance research.

  • Geography & Availability: Must be physically located within the Central Time Zone to align with core working hours (proximity to the Chicago or Minneapolis metro areas is a significant advantage).

  • Preferred Tech-Stack Qualifications
  • Direct, hands-on administrative experience navigating and extracting data from Oracle Fusion Cloud HCM.

  • Active proficiency with Greenhouse ATS for pipeline management and candidate scheduling.

salary: $40 - $45 per hour
shift: First
work hours: 8 AM - 5 PM
education: Bachelors

Responsibilities

  • Transition & Operational Leadership: Partner with leadership to bridge operational gaps during a corporate transition period, standardizing workflows and ensuring business continuity across human resources functions.

  • Severance & Off-boarding Management: Lead and execute the end-to-end severance agreement process, ensuring absolute legal compliance, precise documentation, and empathetic employee separation management.

  • Agile Talent Acquisition: Step in to support full-cycle recruiting initiatives, utilizing modern sourcing methodologies to keep critical technical and data-focused pipelines active.

  • Employee Relations & Advocacy: Act as the primary, objective point of contact for employee grievances, performance management questions, and internal conflict resolution.

  • Service Knowledge Management: Audit existing HR data and documents to build out structured service knowledge bases, ensuring company policies, FAQs, and compliance procedures are clearly documented and accessible.

  • Deep-Dive HR Research: Conduct thorough research on evolving state/federal employment laws, compensation benchmarks, or benefit structures to advise leadership on best practices during the transition.
