MAA is currently accepting applications for the position of Manager of Sign Maintenance (Administrator III) within the Office of Grounds Maintenance at Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport. This position is responsible for the design, creation, coordination and/or fabrication of the signage and wayfinding for the Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI Marshall Airport)

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Overseeing the construction, fabrication, and installation of all informative and directive signage, banners, and posters for BWI Marshall Airport.
  • Managing section operations, assets, and personnel.
  • Developing policies, procedures, and guidelines for personnel, resources, operations, contracts, and assets. Plan, develop, and execute the Divisions budget.
  • Provide direct oversight and guidance to Signage Supervisor.
  • Ensuring completion of daily assignments and conducting regular staff meetings and briefings.
  • Investigating the production techniques and equipment.
  • Supporting the Director, Office of Grounds Maintenance in strategic and inter-office planning.
  • Managing essential administrative functions, including personnel scheduling, leave administration, and performance reviews.

This position is an emergency essential position. All employees designated as emergency essential are required to be available to work during weather, operational and/or disaster emergency conditions. Furthermore, this position requires work in a 24- hour facility and you must be available to work any shift as required by the operational needs of the MDOT MAA.

This position is located at the Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport in Anne Arundel County, MD.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.

Experience: Six years of experience in administrative staff or professional work. *Four years of this experience must include sign design utilizing Raster Image Processor (RIP) software, including FlexiSIGN/FlexiCOMPLETE and Roland VersaWorks, or similar wayfinding software.

*This statement contains a Selective Qualification, which is more focused in scope than the Minimum Qualifications for this classification. Selective Qualifications are utilized when the position requires a specific or additional bona fide occupational qualifications (i.e., knowledge, skills, or abilities).

Notes:

1 . Candidates may substitute 30 credit hours from an accredited college or university for each year up to four years of the required experience.

2. Candidates may substitute the possession of a bachelors degree from an accredited college or university and one year of experience in administrative staff or professional work for the required experience.

3. Candidates may substitute the possession of a masters degree from an accredited college or university for the required experience.

4. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience involving staff work related to the administration of rules, regulations, policies, procedures and processes, or overseeing or coordinating unit operations or functioning as a staff assistant to a higher-ranking commissioned officer on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.

1. Employees in this classification will be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.
