We are seeking an experienced and motivated Safety Manager to lead our safety program, ensure regulatory compliance, and promote a culture of safety throughout our organization. This is a full time, in office position.
Position Summary
The Safety Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing all company safety initiatives, driver compliance programs, accident prevention efforts, and regulatory requirements. This role works closely with drivers, dispatch, maintenance, and management to ensure safe and compliant operations.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and maintain compliance with all applicable DOT, FMCSA, and state regulations.
Conduct driver orientation, safety training, and ongoing education programs.
Monitor driver qualification files, hours-of-service compliance, and electronic logging device (ELD) records.
Investigate accidents, incidents, and safety violations; identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
Coordinate vehicle safety inspections and maintenance compliance programs.
Administer drug and alcohol testing programs in accordance with federal regulations.
Conduct safety audits and prepare for regulatory reviews and inspections.
Serve as the primary point of contact for safety-related matters and regulatory agencies.
Promote a positive safety culture through coaching, communication, and recognition programs.
Qualifications
Minimum 1 year of safety management experience in the trucking, transportation, or logistics industry.
Strong knowledge of FMCSA, DOT, and transportation safety regulations.
Experience with ELD systems, driver qualification files, and compliance management.
Excellent investigative, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and leadership abilities.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and transportation management software.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience managing safety programs for fleets of 50+ vehicles.
