HR Intern

The Human Resources (HR) Intern provides administrative and project support to the HR team while gaining hands-on experience in various human resources functions. This role assists with employee records management, compliance audits, employee engagement initiatives, HR communications, and special projects. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, maintains confidentiality, and is eager to learn about HR operations and best practices.

Tasks & Responsibilities:

  • Maintain organized, accurate, and compliant personnel files in both digital and physical formats.
  • Conduct routine audits of employee records, including I-9 verification, dependent eligibility documentation, and file completeness.
  • Audit personnel files regularly to ensure compliance with company policies, legal requirements, and recordkeeping standards.
  • Support onboarding and offboarding processes, including document collection, data entry, system updates, and coordination of required activities.
  • Assist with updating, reviewing, and maintaining job descriptions to ensure accuracy, consistency, and alignment with organizational needs.
  • Coordinate HR-related meetings, new hire orientations, training sessions, and employee engagement events.
  • Support internal branding and HR communication initiatives, including employee announcements, engagement campaigns, newsletters, and recognition programs.
  • Assist with HR projects, training programs, reporting activities, data tracking, and special initiatives assigned
  • Prepare and maintain HR documents, reports, and spreadsheets while ensuring data accuracy.
  • Respond to routine employee inquiries and direct questions to the appropriate HR team members when needed.
  • Handle sensitive and confidential employee information with the highest level of discretion, professionalism, and integrity.
  • Ensure adherence to company Safety and Environmental policies and procedures while supporting a culture of continuous improvement and zero-harm objectives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support departmental goals and organizational objectives.

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Management, Psychology, or a related field.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to interact professionally with employees, supervisors, and management.
  • Critical thinking and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion, integrity, and professionalism.
  • Reliable transportation to and from the job site.
