What We Need:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Labour Relations Coordinator to support labour and employee relations activities across our organization. Reporting to the Manager, Employee & Labour Relations, you will assist with grievance administration, collective agreement interpretation, labour relations reporting, and labour-management initiatives while supporting positive relationships with leaders, employees, and union partners.
Key Responsibilities:
Coordinate and support grievance administration, ensuring timelines, documentation, and follow-up activities are managed effectively.
Assist with workplace investigations through information gathering, note-taking, documentation review, and preparation of supporting materials.
Provide guidance to leaders on routine collective agreement interpretation, including scheduling, overtime, premiums, leaves, attendance management, and progressive discipline processes.
Maintain accurate labour relations records and databases, including grievances, disciplinary matters, and Letters of Understanding.
Compile labour relations metrics and reports to support trend analysis and decision-making.
Coordinate labour-management committee meetings, including agenda preparation, meeting logistics, minute-taking, and action item tracking.
Support collective bargaining preparation through research, data collection, and organization of background materials.
Build and maintain positive working relationships with union representatives, operational leaders, and Human Resources colleagues.
What you bring to the role:
Undergraduate degree in Human Resources, Labour Relations, Industrial Relations, Business Administration, or a related field.
Minimum 13 years of Human Resources experience, preferably within a unionized environment.
Exposure to labour relations processes such as grievance administration, collective agreement interpretation, workplace investigations, or labour-management committees.
Knowledge of applicable employment and labour legislation, including the Employment Standards Act, Labour Relations Act, and Human Rights Code.
Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to maintain professionalism in sensitive situations.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, including the judgment to identify issues requiring escalation.
Proficiency with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
Healthcare and/or multi-site organizational experience is considered an asset.
CHRP or CHRL designation, or progress toward certification, is considered an asset.
