About the Role:
The Human Resources Specialist supports a variety of human resources programs and services, helping to achieve departmental and organizational goals. Responsibilities may vary and include additional duties as needed to support the success of the organization.

Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary HR contact for assigned departments, providing guidance on employee relations, policies, and HR programs.
- Conduct employee relations investigations and support grievance and conflict resolution processes.
- Coordinate pre-employment screenings, including background checks, drug testing, and other required verifications.
- Facilitate new hire onboarding and orientation to ensure a successful employee experience.
- Partner with leaders on talent acquisition, hiring processes, and workforce planning.
- Deliver employee training and assist with the development of training materials and programs.
- Maintain accurate HR records, employee files, HRIS data, and compliance documentation.
- Generate HR reports and metrics to support organizational decision-making and compliance efforts.
- Provide support and guidance to employees regarding benefits, policies, and HR-related processes.
- Participate in HR initiatives, process improvements, and special projects while promoting a positive workplace culture.
- Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
- Must possess and maintain SHRM CP certification or obtain certification within one (1) year of commencing employment.
- Must possess and maintain Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) certification or successfully obtain within the first ninety (90) days of employment.
- Must possess the PowerTalk Certification or obtain within one (1) year of commencing employment. Other certifications may be accepted in lieu of this on a case-by-case basis.
- Ability to work odd and irregular hours, as needed.
- Must successfully pass the required criminal and character background check.
- Ability to travel and participate in required training, leadership development, and other events.
