Primary Function
The HR Specialist provides administrative and operational support to the Human Resources Department while serving as a key resource for employee communications and engagement. With a commitment to quality, continuous improvement, compliance, and employee service, this position coordinates internal and external communications, employee recognition programs, company events, website and digital communication platforms, and supports a wide range of Human Resources functions and strategic initiatives.
Description
- Maintains the Company's internal and external communication platforms, including social media accounts, website content updates, employee information displays and television monitors.
- Coordinates employee recognition programs, including service awards, employee milestones, birthdays, work anniversaries, and other recognition initiatives that support employee engagement and company culture.
- Coordinates company events and employee engagement activities by providing end-to-end support, including event planning, communications, scheduling, logistics, vendor coordination, and on-site event execution.
- Responsible for maintenance of company personnel and benefits data files within HRIS (Human Resource Information Systems).
- Performs regular audits to ensure company and regulatory compliance of data files within HRIS (Human Resource Information Systems).
- Maintains, processes, reviews, and compiles a variety of confidential and sensitive electronic and hard copy reports, records, statistics, and correspondence, which requires tact and discretion in handling.
- Develop, maintain, review, and update job descriptions to ensure accuracy, compliance, and alignment with organizational needs and position requirements.
- Plays a supporting role in the onboarding of all company employees.
- Fields requests for information regarding the company personnel and benefits data files in compliance with company policy.
- Assists co-workers within Human Resources department to ensure maintenance of efficient, accurate and secure data.
- Responsible for coordination of benefits for all employees including assisting employees with benefits questions and concerns.
- Helps coordinate and track of on-going HR training programs.
- In certain locations, performs essential front desk administrative duties including but not limited to greeting visitors, answering, and routing incoming phone calls
- Primary contacts are within the department with regular contact with management and representatives of outside organizations.
- Provides support in non-driver positions utilizing job boards, career websites, resume searches, etc.
- Attend career fairs and community outreach events to promote the company, build relationships with prospective candidates, and support recruiting initiatives.
- Regular attendance is required to maintain a safe and productive work environment.
- Other duties and special projects and events as assigned.

- Excellent professional-level writing, editing and verbal communications skills with an ability to adjust communication for different audiences and channels and to tell a compelling story.
- Capability to manage multiple projects under tight and sometimes competing deadlines with the flexibility to quickly shift gears when needed.
- Friendly, polite, and possesses emotional intelligence.
- Strong organization skills and the ability to establish priorities.
- Good analytical, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills to accurately document and report.
- Ability to grasp new concepts quickly.
- Ability to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Ability to identify issues and solve routine problems.
- Full knowledge of computer operations and applications.
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
Education Required
- High School Diploma or GED, some college preferred.
- 1-2 years human resource experience or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
