Human Resources Generalist Job Description This full-time Human Resources Generalist role provides comprehensive HR support to a manufacturing environment with hourly employees covered by a collective bargaining agreement. The position focuses on employee relations, performance management, onboarding, and HR program administration while ensuring compliance with employment laws and company policies. The role is onsite five days a week in Evansville (Fleetwood, PA) and offers the opportunity to grow from a junior-level HR position into a longer-term role, with an initial three-month placement and potential for temp-to-perm conversion. Responsibilities Partner with managers to support day-to-day employee relations, including coaching, conflict resolution, and performance management for hourly employees covered by a collective bargaining agreement. Collaborate closely with union hourly employees and assist with contract interpretation in alignment with the collective bargaining agreement. Support workforce planning efforts by helping leaders assess staffing needs, identify gaps, and implement appropriate staffing strategies. Facilitate onboarding for new hires, including coordination of paperwork, orientation, and integration into the organization. Coordinate and support training and employee development initiatives to enhance skills, performance, and engagement. Ensure compliance with employment laws, regulations, internal policies, and procedures in all HR practices and decisions. Support HR programs related to benefits, compensation, and employee engagement activities, ensuring clear communication and effective execution. Utilize HR systems and databases, including Workday (if applicable), to maintain accurate employee records and support HR processes. Analyze HR metrics and data to identify trends, support continuous improvement, and inform strategic HR decision-making. Maintain strict confidentiality and handle sensitive employee matters with discretion and professionalism. Manage multiple HR priorities and tasks in a dynamic manufacturing environment, ensuring timely and accurate follow-through. Collaborate with cross-functional teams and departments to support a positive, inclusive, and respectful workplace culture. Essential Skills Some prior human resources experience in a junior-level HR role. Experience working with or supporting unionized (CBA) hourly employees, or strong interest in learning union environments. Basic understanding of contract interpretation within a collective bargaining agreement context. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including strong skills in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Experience with HR systems and databases; Workday experience is a significant plus. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a collaborative, team-oriented mindset. Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion and professionalism. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications Union (CBA) experience is preferred due to the need for contract interpretation. Manufacturing industry experience is a plus and will help in understanding the operational environment. Workday (WD) experience is a strong plus and highly valued for this role. Comfort with data analysis and HR metrics to support continuous improvement and strategic decisions. Flexibility to travel between locations in New Jersey (Camden/Sparta) and Hamburg, PA if the role converts to a permanent position. Interest in a temp-to-perm opportunity, with an initial three-month placement and potential for conversion based on performance and business needs. Work Environment This position is based onsite in a professional office environment in Evansville, Monday through Friday, five days a week. Typical hours are either 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. or 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with some flexibility as needed. The role includes working in an office setting with a dedicated private office and occasional visits to operational or manufacturing sites. The environment requires a balance of independent work and close collaboration with managers, hourly employees, and cross-functional teams. The culture emphasizes flexibility, adaptability, and a respectful, inclusive workplace. Casual dress is appropriate for this role. While there is no travel required during the initial contract period, if the position converts to a permanent role there may be occasional travel to other locations such as Camden and Sparta, NJ, and Hamburg, PA. Standard office technologies and HR systems, including Microsoft Office and potentially Workday, are used daily to support HR operations. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Fleetwood, PA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $33.00 - $39.00/hr.
