Job Description
The Junior Human Resources Generalist will work both collaboratively and independently to support the execution of core HR activities across the organization. This role is designed to directly support the HR Ops team by handling day-to-day HR operations, coordinating key processes, and helping ensure consistent application of HR practices. The Junior HR Generalist serves as a key operational partner - providing front-line support to employees and managers, while enabling HRBPs to focus on more strategic initiatives. This role plays a hands-on part in areas such as employee engagement, HR systems, performance management support, compliance, and general HR operations.
Core Responsibilities
* Support HR Business Partners in executing HR programs, initiatives, and day-to-day activities across assigned client groups
* Coordinate and support the onboarding and offboarding processes, including the creation, maintenance, and accurate processing of new hire and terminated employee records in HR systems
* Provide administrative and coordination support for the performance management process, including goal setting, review cycles, and development planning
* Conduct and/or coordinate employee touchpoints (e.g., 30/90-day check-ins, exit interviews) and share themes with HRBPs
* Coordinate background checks and pre-employment processes in alignment with company and client requirements
* Support compliance efforts, including maintaining HR documentation and assisting with required reporting (e.g., EEO-1, AAP, VETS)
* Deliver responsive, high-quality support to employees and managers while reinforcing company policies and practices
* Identify opportunities to improve HR processes and enhance efficiency in partnership with HRBPs
* Support additional HR projects and initiatives as needed
Qualifications & Competencies
* Requires a Bachelor's degree and 3-5 years of related experience; or an advanced degree without experience; or 5 years of related work experience and no degree.
* Experience working with HR systems (HRIS, ATS) and Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint)
* Foundational understanding of HR practices, policies, and employment laws
* Collaborative and team-oriented, with a strong partnership mindset
* Customer-service orientation with a focus on delivering a positive employee experience
* Sound judgment and professionalism in handling employee matters
* Adaptability and ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment
Knowledge & Skills
* Ability to build effective working relationships with employees and managers at all levels
* Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
* Strong attention to detail, particularly in HR systems and data management
* Effective communication skills (written and verbal)
* Ability to handle sensitive and confidential
