Summary
The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for working closely with HR and site management to build and maintain a company culture centered around engagement and productivity. This position works across many functional areas including: payroll, employee relations, onboarding, offboarding, policy implementation, recruitment/employment, and employment law compliance. This role will report directly to the on-site HR Manager.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Provides excellent customer service to our employee population by acting as a resource to the workforce while modeling Trelleborg’s core values and acting as a champion of company culture.
- Supports recruitment efforts as needed by scheduling and conducting interviews, administering assessments, arranging travel and maintaining the applicant tracking system.
- Maintains accurate employee records in the HRIS system.
- Input data into HRIS for payroll records, information related to new hires, terminations, wage verifications, status changes, etc.
- Respond to payroll inquiries and requests.
- Supports benefits administration, including employee communication and enrollment.
- Works with third party administrator for FMLA, STD, and state leaves to ensure compliance.
- Plan and facilitate onboarding for all new hires.
- Contributes to the development and realization of department goals, objectives and systems.
- Supporting employee engagement initiatives and events.
- Partners with managers and supervisors on performance concerns. Assists in resolving workplace conflicts and disputes.
- Maintains compliance with all federal, state and local employment laws and regulations.
- Assists in the development and implementation of policies and procedures.
- Creates and maintains work instructions for department processes.
- Conducts exit interviews as directed.
- May include administrative tasks to support on-going building management.
- Serves as a backup to other HR functions as needed.
- Other tasks or special projects as assigned.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in Business or other related field.
- Minimum 1 year of Human Resource related experience
- SHRM Certification a plus

The final compensation offered to the candidate may be based on geographical location, work experience and/or skill level. Additions to the compensation packing, including but not limited to paid time off, insurance benefits and 401(k) eligibility, will be outlined at the time of the job offer.
Compensation range: $60,000-$75,000 annually
