Staffing Manager Jobs in District of Columbia

A Staffing Manager in the human resources industry is responsible for overseeing the recruitment and hiring processes within an organization. This includes creating and implementing strategies to source, attract, and retain qualified candidates, coordinating interviews, and managing relationships with employment agencies or job boards. They also work closely with other departments to understand their staffing needs and ensure they are met. As part of their role, they may also develop and oversee training programs, assess employee performance, and maintain staffing records and reports.

To be successful in this role, a Staffing Manager should have strong interpersonal and communication skills, be detail-oriented, and have a solid understanding of employment law and HR best practices. They should also be proficient in using HR software and technology. Although not always required, many employers prefer candidates with certification in HR, such as the Professional in Human Resources (PHR), Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR), or Certified Staffing Professional (CSP). A person may have roles such as a Recruitment Coordinator, HR Generalist, or Staffing Consultant before becoming a Staffing Manager.
